Changing from MS Works to MS Office

I now have MS Works on my computer and I want to put MS Office 2007 Student & Home on it. How is the best way to go about this please?
Also, how do I transfer the stuff I have on Works Word Processor and Spreadsheets to MS Office Word and Excel?

For the works spreadsheets you want to transfer select what you want to copy and paste onto MS Office spreadsheet. You will have to re-format the sheets to suit, image it would be the same Word don't have much to do with that......But I really miss the works database, it was so user friendly, reports easy to program....MS Office Acess database I find is not so friendly......When our company upgraded our system the IT pros..were happy to get rid of Works, saying it was not as efficient...then in the next breath..offered to set up the MS database ......for a price of cause.

Thank you Paulti, I will take on board your instructions and see how I go. Obviously, I need to download Ms Office and then transfer everything from Ms Works and then remove it.
