Charles Aznavour's Passing.

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Charles Aznavour at the age of 94.

I loved all his songs, She, Yesterday When I was Young, Dance in The Old Fashioned Way and others.

To hear a man sing with a French accent would melt my heart. He could be singing about garbage in the street and it would still sound sexy.

RIP Charles.

i did hear of his passing,  and was looking on here to put something in,       i loved his version of ;SHE'     i went to see him ,   many years ago,    about 40,   i think,   at HAMER    HALL,    it hadnt been opened long,     lady next door and i went,   he was very small in stature,    but a wonderful voice,      HE was well loved in FRANCE,     but i dont think he ever got the accolades he deserved elsewhere,    R.I.P.

He was well known in the UK in the 70's as Charles 'As-no-voice! He appeared on many of the light entertainment shows like Sunday Night at The London Paladium and such.

Hola I totally agree with your comments - I too loved Charles Aznavour - had some beautiful songs

with meaning.   Also loved Sacha Distel - like you that French accent got me everytime!!

Sacha Distell was a great favourite of mine too. What hapened to him?

Hola & Troubadour I agree with your comments. As a child I also fell in love with Charles Trenet singing La Mer. My ancestry goes way back to Brittany & a well travelled older cousin once told me that I had the look of a French woman. The French language is made for songs. Such a caressing sound.

Charles Aznavour does have a great singing. Family members bought an album  for my mother She liked  his voice. Unfortunately age  catches up. 94 is a good  age,
