dodgy knees

I would suggest seeing a GP about your knees rather than assuming it is arthritis. I have dodgy knees, one much worse than the other, but my problem is bursitis. Sadly, the only treatment is for the symptoms, so my GP and physio tell me - cortisone injections, hydrotherapy and resting the knee in flare-ups, plus gentle walking. Before this blew up I was doing 2 x 30 minute walks weekly + 1-2 hours square dancing once or twice weekly so big changes in my exercise program. Oh well, c'est la vie!

Yes we sure miss being able to do what we once did

With any joint problem, it would pay to have it thoroughly checked out by your GP. There are some great products on the market that can help - e.g., Glucosamine sulphate. These drugs dont work for everyone (they do for me) but they can drastically improve painful ankles, knees, hips etc and give back at least some lost mobility. At our age, ANYTHING is worth a try.
