Halted a plan to snatch any random person in Sydney and behead them

OK now all you lefties who thought this was a beat up - how do you feel now eh?  11.10am

Ongoing reports so scroll down to beginning 11.10am and back up

Anyone notice Breakfast on ABC?

Today no real talk re raids catching Muslim terrorists over Sydney no, more interested in bitching over the Report on boats figures and how were those on the boats turned back treated?  Where did they go? And on those deported - are they safe?

This is our taxpayer ABC in action.

Predictable that this was going to happen and I hope we catch them before they do carry out any of their horrific plans. Have to be very lucky if we do.

I see where members of our defence forces are being told NOT to wear their uniforms when coming and going to work!

Good idea... since there has been a lot of rumours of repeating what happened in London last year to the British soldier.

I never thought I would live to see the day when our defence forces have to hide what they do.  . A very sad day;  but of course if it saves their lives it has to be done.

Completely agree...my great nephew is in the Navy in the UK amd there have been many warnings there too.

Go take a deep breath and a good lie down Flour - your "ramblings" are nothing more than ridiculous! lol lol lol - :-)

Can I take a Bex too fox..pleeeeeeeeeeeeese!!

I have been impressed recently with a few interviews with people who are speaking with conviction not spin given to them that morning to repeat a few lines. I think one of the problems with the new technologies is that we expect instant Answers and everybody to have a view on every subject. We have relegated time for reflection and to analyse what people are really trying to say beyond their immediate reactions which often appear illogical .

One of the interviews I remembered, because I remember few ,was with a Lieutenant General in the Australian Army about six months ago. She was on the General Staff. Based in Canberra. Was was fascinating was not only her obvious intelligence and sensitivity and dedication to her career . But the fact that she had undergone a gender realignment having been a man . Secondly that she had been a life long friend of Tony Abbott who had encouraged her and supported her through her decisions as had the Army .

The second was yesterday which was with the. Head of Army a man but confirmed feminist who spoke honestly and well I am sure the interview is available on I view and would urge everybody to watch it.

The third was Jacquie Lambe today she was speaking from the heart and I feel made Cassidy look foolish in trying to make her look an outsider to the political class which she is .
She is a genuine article and whist I disagree with her on many topics ..She is genuine and we need more like her.
The ABC are repeating Ad Nausem the one clip from the interview that is in contradiction to their corporate PC view.

Pete...you had me interested and I was just thinking OK this is good... until we got to the last para about Jacquie Lambe..the only heart she is speaking from is a chicken heart..sorry but that's the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

No it is your opinion . She is fulfilling the role of a Senator which was designed to protect the minor states . She represents Tasmania a dependant State and she is trying to achieve what Haaridine did .

Her other opininions based on her Army experience are to get a better deal for Service personel once they leave service.

Her point of view on Islamics whilst maybe not put sophisticatedly would IMO represent the views of the non political class..

Pete who are the "non-political class" ?

The majority ..

Absolute rubbish Pete. No point in saying anything further.

Given that we have seen a number of terrorist groups come and go over the decades, it bears scrutiny how these various groups were successfully stopped, as well as where governments failed. Buying in to media hype actually helps terrorist organisations to create public suspicion, division among groups and eventual social disorder where terrorism can thrive.

Whether it is in Iraq, Australia, Britain, or Canada, radical groups will try to draw legitimate political authorities into a violent confrontation of some kind.

This is rather stating the obvious.

The best method of identifying terrorist groups, eg, Islamic, is to work closely with the Islamic community.

Both the police to protect them from anti-Muslim nutters, and the Muslim community itself to work closely with the police.

In this country, however, we have freedom of the press and it is difficult to "tone" them down.   Remember the journalist adage "If it bleeds it leads".

The general public just needs to use common sense.

I see the WMDs have still not been found nor the shredding machine. Political leaders with all the resources lied or were lied to but considering Bush etc it is lied about the threat. Wilke gave Howard good reason to be embarrassed at the time but Howard went and lied anyway. Now he lies by saying he is embarrassed about WMDs, really ?

The case against these men was put by the prosecution on the basis that they did not have a terrorist target and that they had no plan in place to commit a terrorist act. Christine Nixon's phrase, "imminent terrorist attack", was simply wrong.

While that case was being played out in Melbourne, a Brisbane newspaper made the claim, in 2007, that the man wrongfully accused of involvement in terrorism activity, Dr Mohamed Haneef, had planned to blow up a Gold Coast high-rise building. The claim was absurd. The "evidence" included a photo of Haneef and family members out the front of a high-rise building; the photo had been taken when they were touring the Gold Coast.

Mohammad Ali Baryalei is said to have given the order on Tuesday to associates in Australia to slay “a random kaffir” (nonbeliever) on the streets of Sydney, then place a video of the execution online.

Baryalei, also known as Abu Omar, was born to an aristocratic Aghan family and came to Australia as a child refugee and left to join ISIL via Tokyo

The police had been monitoring communications between Baryalei and a group of would-be terrorist recruiters since earlier this year.
