How great is this shower van for the homeless in Brisbane?
Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett, the duo known as Orange Sky, won the 2016 Young Australians of the Year award for their efforts to help Brisbane's homeless.
Marchedi and Patchett came up with the brilliant idea to give homeless people in Brisbane access to a free hot shower every day.
"Twenty-two months ago we had a crazy idea to put two washing machines and two dryers in a van and wash and dry clothes for free," Mr Marchesi said.
"So we then had an even crazier idea of putting two showers in the back of a van. We have water tanks on board, we have heating on board, we also collect our grey water."
They built the van themselves, thanks for $100,000 from the Shine On Foundation.
Dave 'Bushie' Brum, 60, who has been living on the streets for more than 20 years was one of the first to trial the free shower: "It was bloody awesome. It is so great to have a real shower."
The duo now has 11 laundry vans across Australia and wants to expend the shower vans too.

Thank you so much Amelia.
Your contribution has sure made my day.
Just terrific, and must be an innovation for those unlucky enough (sadly)
to be homeless due to many circumstances.
