Miracle food? maybe?
Has anyone ever seen a purple carrot? or remember them from days gone by?
Watched the story on "Purple Carrots" last night. Apparently can cure or at least
help make us better with many ailments.
I have never seen a purple Carrot. We are off today to see if we can buy some at all.
and even moreso seeds as would be able to juice heaps.
Good when something is natural (so are many poisons though of course) but
carrots are a healthy veg. anyway to eat.
Going to be 23 deg. so says the forecaster today - how perfect is that?
..................
Going off track but how sad an elderly lady found after being dead for 2 years.
Not sure what the answer is as many including us (but there are two of us)
are "private people" so sometimes I suppose people do not like to intrude.
More difficult if a person is elderly and living alone.
All the best
Phyl.
Yes Phyl, it is terrible to think someone has died and there is no one who cared.
When we moved to our house there was an elderly gentleman lived next door and I noticed that no one seemed to be there for him so I introduced myself and made a pact with him that every day when he got up he would put the blind up in the kitchen and I would know that he was alright..
He had to use a walker and when I saw him trying to put his garbage bin out I told him I would do that for him each week and bring it in. Also when I cooked a roast I used to take him a plate in. It was funny because when he looked at it he used to say "Oh I couldn't eat all that" but the plate was empty when I went back in later to pick it up and he would say "I really enjoyed that."
When he needed to get money out of the bank, I used to do that for him as well and do any shopping he wanted.
Imagine my surprise when one day a daughter appeared at the fence and gave me money and asked me to go up to the shop to get him some tea. She used to arrive on one bus, bring him a pie for lunch and then leave on the next bus and she only lived a couple of suburbs away.
It doesn't take much time or effort to help someone out and sadly I think people these days are losing the neighbourly touch. They should remember that one day they will be old too.
