On'ya Clive...

As I predicted Clive has had a "miraculous" recovery and he and his family plus others (around 20 or so) are all on a  24 day luxury cruise/holiday overseas.

This must have been in the pipeline for some time I would suggest as you cannot (surely)just make all these arrangements virtually overnight for so many people.

I am sure those people (if there are any) who felt sorry for Clive staggering into Court with oxygen bottle, sick bag and suffering terrible memory loss must be feeling very duped.

A horrible man who thinks he is above the law and takes no personal responsibility for his actions. He has left his former workers inTownsville high and dry, taken a thriving resort onthe Sunshine Coast which was the largerst employer and completely decimated it. What did his foray into politics actually achieve. His 'sick'ruse certainly didn't fool me. I hope he can eventually be held to account

Whilst the courts accept the charade it will roll on. I guess you have to allow the crooks to get off somehow but the the public have had a gutful of this when their savings can be fleeced and the criminals walk away with a fine of small custodial sentence in a low key facility.

Just shows you the rules for the wealthy are different to the rules for the man in the street.  So why does the media not after the scam?  That is the question!

What exactly is he guilty of ?

being rich ?

Come now Mick. Mr Palmer is down to his last $100m by latest reports. And how do you know his wife did not pay for his trip?

I really want to know who his medical team were because they are clearly working miracles with pancreatitis. They deserve untold riches for their advancement of treatment of this awful and usually very quickly fatal disease.

No Rafael, using expensive lawyers to get off or get a much reduced sentence.  How often do we see blue collar criminals walk with a sentence which is a joke at worst while the people whose lifetime of savings they stole can go whistle.  In case you have not noticed ordinary people do not save up a nest egg easily and they often go without a lot to do so.

You must be in the crowd I am talking about KSS.  Conscience?  Personally I had a gutful of the courts after Bond (memory loss), Skase (memory loss + wheelchair and repirator) and now Palmer (memory loss + breathing equipment).

Tell me about Clive, please.  Not exactly as if the game is not a well worn path taken by crooks of all sort.

So you don't recognise scarcasm Mick?

I wonder if this an example of how the country can achieve financial stability by allowing the market set the course for the Economy.

Take note those who advocate minimal interferance between the government and Investors and Industrialists.  There has to be balance.

I see those evil Unions are trying to retrieve the entitlements due to their members, is there no end to the evil and corruption that Unions will engage in.

Don't worry KSS most of us did, but sarcasm can be missed in the written word and you can't blame someone for being passionate.

In MICK's defence, I can remember a man being ridiculed by a PM for turning up in court with breathing aparatus, just because he had a form of lung cancer.  The difference was the man in question wasn't a rich businessman, he was just a worker who had the misfortune to work with Asbestos.  In this case the government chose to extend the trial as long as possible hoping that the poor man would die before the trial ended.

Of course he flew to Barcelona to join his ship the Titanic on her maiden voyage. Surely his Chinese friends have had time to build and crew it for him. No doubt this is why he took his family and hangers on to celebrate the launching.

Like so many thinks about Clive Palmer there are many figments and much imagination and lots of lucre for Mr Palmer. No doubt his nephew who the courts are trying to get to return to Australia to answer some pressing questions will be on the cruise with the group.

Sorry but I cannot help being sarcastic. I have much respect for those who make their way in life succesfully and accumulate assets at no cost to others but by sheer diligence. Let it be known that I do not know Mr Palmer but I hold no respect for him.

Ditto.

No idea what the prosecutors hope to achieve by questioning Clive

so the nickel company went bust

too bad so sad

So what are you involved in Raphael? Much of the same? Sounds very much like birds of a feather are flying together.

"So the nickel company went bust"?  Really?  You forgot to mention that CLive sucked out many millions of dollars to leave the company vulnerable.  It did not go bust of its own accord from what I understand.  Funny how you left out that pertinent detail.

Yes and when Clive bought the Hyatt Coolum resort it was an immaculate 5 star resort employing hundreds of workers. It used to attract many tourists to the Sunshine Coast and hosted the PGA for years. It is now an empty white elephant but tell me Raphael why do you support him.

Raphael is not supporting Clive because they are in the same financial bracket.

He just likes to make smart arse comments, which he thinks is clever.

How am I doing Raffy?

Nice mutt Reagan.

lol - yeah - real "dog"!

Thanks Mick, golden retriever is my wife's favourite dog. We used to have one of these but it got into so much strife we had to get rid of it.

ROFLOL

Like your new Zorro outfit Reagan!

A miraculous recovery only rivalled by Alan Bonds miraculous recovery.

And doing very nicely investing in Africa due to the kindness of his friends.  We never get back the stolen loot and Bond got to live out the rest of his life in quiet comfort. Ah to be rich and get away with murder............

Bloody Clive. Have been following his antics for years as a Queenslander. A first class dudder IMO with quite a track record in the 'poor me', 'look at me', 'grand vision failures', 'litigate first/ask questions later', then deny responsibility 'wasn't me' stakes. Grrrrrr ... as other folk affected by his schemes/accusations/failures/court cases get trashed.

.... least he's lost half his body weight!   Like - who cares?  Doesn't make him look any sexier! (Not that he ever was!)    lol lol lol

LOL....sexy and Clive in the same sentence Foxy    .........ohhhh yukky !!!

Will be interesting to see if the liquidators get the $66 million they are chasing.

BTW the wife did not have any money when she married him as far as I know.

She was the widow of a friend of Clive's who died young.

"WHEN mining billionaire Clive Palmer married his wife Anna, it was the second time he had walked down the aisle with her.

More than a decade earlier, he had acted as the father of the bride as the young Bulgarian beauty wed his friend Andrew Topalov when her parents were unable to attend."

Not that it matters two hoots but he is 20 years older than Anna.

Rads - according to the media - he has a couple of his "liquidators'" onboard!!!  What a joke!

WOW....that IS interesting (if true)..I would love to know the reason they are there?   Sounds awfully strange to me..

Yes - I thought the same - but - that's what I heard on the news this morning ......it's not just his wife and daughter on this "mega bucks" holiday - there are 10  - that he has paid for!!!  ........  Nice huh?   :-)

Well - he's a benevolent guy

magnanaimois and generous

EXPECTED...????

???????????????????? stop it already, first it was Chris and Bondi now it's Clive,  leave the poor rich boys alone they're taking the heat of off turncoat and company lol
