i have noted with disgust that Cardinal Pell will be given a funeral at St. Mary's Cathedral, with members of parliament and others honouring his passing. I was brought up a Catholic in Catholic Schools, the Nuns were something else with their cruelty, but I never complained to my parents. I have just finished reading a book The Altar Boys by Susan Smith which delved into the disgusting behaviour by the Priests, Brothers and some lay people within the Church. The lies and cover-ups by them is unforgiveable. It told of "children with everything to live for, a community betrayed and a whistleblower priest who paid the ultimate price". Pell's name came up many times who knew of these atrocities and just moved the Priests and Brothers on to other parishes for them to continue with their behaviour. I don't blame the people for tying ribbons to the fences of St. Mary's Cathedral because that is the only way they can show their disgust. Just watch Howard, Abbott and Dutton puff up their chests and honour this dispicable man. Maybe you  think I'm harsh but I have first hand knowledge of a couple of the priests.who offended.
