New Labor Innitiative

Oh goody...another anti labor party spoof by ABBY.  What a surprise!

We get it ABBY you are a LIBERAL supporter through and through and don't care what or how the Labor Party do things.......it is, of course, simply WRONG.

Can you add anything that is not taken from fascist dogma, that is, maybe some original thought.

It would be nice.

Could not do that to you dear Mussitate

Getting angry is not good for your health

LOL , wonder who is angry !

Mussitate, just because someone criticises Labor, does not make them a Liberal supporter. I rarely have praise for ANY political party, does that make me an anarchist? You are taking to insulting the poster rather than criticising the post - I thought we all agreed that this is unproductive and impolite?

I must be confused, I thought that was what a chat line was all about, insulting everyone that posts something you disagree with, remove that, and all the interesting reading is gone.

Undoubtedly we will get back to that once the Festive Season is over  - you have less than 13 hours to wait.

kfchugo, see what I mean, about insulting? Abby can't wait to get back to angry posts. Possibly because of a very unhappy and spoilt lifestyle.

Seth, I have always believed that it was prudent and sensible to criticise a post rather than the poster and I was under the impression that the majority of posters here agreed with that general principal. If you say something that I disagree with, I can argue, point out deficiencies in your case, do some research to counter your arguments etc., etc.......OR, I can just call you a numbskull and dismiss your arguments as irrelevant. By criticising the poster, i believe that one is demonstrating that they have no real counter for the argument presented and must resort to insults to try to win the point. That is not fair, reasonable or respectful to the poster. Either we treat each other with some modicum of respect or we will degenerate into nasty and spiteful name-calling, insults, character assassination etc. - Personally, I would rather chat in a room with some sensible rules/guidelines to avoid that.

Admin seems to take a very light handed approach to rules, moderation etc here so, we really need to agree amongst ourselves on how we are going to interact and what is acceptable and what is not. That is my view, but perhaps it is not as widely accepted as I had thought.

I may not always succeed in "holding my tongue", but I do make a constant and realistic effort to do so.

kfchugo, my comment was 'tongue in cheek' it is correct not to attack the poster, but the post, if you disagree. which in the past has not always been the case.

Sorry Seth, I was surprised by your post and should have realised it was sarcasm, being so out of character for you. I suppose we are all allowed a "senior moment" now and then.......

Who was the fool that decided that Seniors could have their own Political Party?  What a totally ineffective stupid idea was that?  The idea of a Political Party is to protect the Seniors from mistreatment by the Government.  If 1 % of Seniors joined the Party, it would have an unbelievable membership of close to 70,000, making it the biggest Political Party ever, in Australia.  If it got a single member into the Upper House & that member were to demand a rise in the aged pension from the ruling Government, he/she would be immediately condemned by 30,000 of the members as a sexist misogynist & told how Howard was actually a professional pickpocket who only robbed people with no money.  It would be pointed out that Howard got Murdoch to instruct the Australian brain dead voters to vote for the GST to make sure that we would have a liberal Government to rip off the populace.  He/she would then be told that it was a right wing request & therefore made under instruction from Rupert Murdoch who has ultimate rule over the successful people, who got off their asses & put together a little wealth.  Ergo, he has no rule or influence over the smarter ones who have nothing & never wasted their hard earned on buying a home etc.  Result:-  30,000 socialists resign from the Party & the Government laughs its head off.  The only hope for the Party would be a hung Parliament & they would then give anything to the Seniors in order to buy the vote.  Of course, this result would only last for a maximum of 3 years until the next election when both Parties would put the Seniors' Party candidate last on both tickets.  He/she would then be jailed by Roxon, for collecting Election Funding illegaly, as the Party had 70,000 supporters & not a single paid up member.

Innes, are you campaigning for apathy?

Sorry kfchugo.  Is realistic cynicism a medical complaint?

I wouldnt mind so much if your cynicism was actually realistic. If people take you seriously, whats the point in doing anything - every initiative id doomed to failure. I would rather do something and fail than do nothing and succeed.

You are very correct kfchugo.  Thats why I did just that.  There were one or 2 on here that actually cheered.

I am a swinging voter but get taken for Liberal and that is because we dont have a lot of choice.

It is the Labor party who deserted me and mine back in the 80's when Hawke decided to take those lovely fat donations for The Accord which held back workers wages for years whilst upping productivity - but not for school teachers - and all to make profit greater for employers in exchange for those donations and incidently because of the info we surmise Hawke/Keating had to get to leave in the end millionaires on investments etc so had good 'advice'.

Or the Greens and other minor parties who cant get their acts together and are one item usually and make the whole thing corrupt to get their bill through in exchange for preferences.

Or the Liberal/Nationals who are not conservatives at all but liberals and that is closer to labor than I like - would prefer a bit more of the Australia for Australians when it comes to all trade not go along with no tariffs when the rest of our trading partners have tariffs on our goods more often then not and of course underwrite acriculture and other industries and we dont as follow the rules like the little drummer boy who said all the others out of step when he was.Their only saving grace is they do actually have the qualities needed and the intelligence to manage the economy.

So the best of a bad bunch on offer

And they are fairer to the working man and woman than labor is these days and did tie the pension to MAW and untied by Labor in 2007 in spite of promises to up it to 27%. Gave them the supplement and a 10% increase for GST. Not a one off like the Carbon tax seemingly.

So until something better comes along and of course they have to put up a canditdate in my electorate too, I usually end up voting Liberal by default.

No party of course is perfect, bit like looking for a new house to buy - I go for 80% of what I want.

But politically these days much lower but still the Coalition scores best at looking after our money.

Really if we could just get to get the blooming lot of them to realize it is our money for Australians here now today and  not theirs to sling about overseas.

Fix up our borders and out of UN will do it for a start and then start to get things going again bringing back industries that manufacture which mean jobs for our grandkids.

When we have heaps of money  going spare in the bank , houses vacant, jobs too, and  no waiting lists for medical treatments or dental treatments and our disabled all being looked after,  then we can offer places here for workers without giving them citizenship too early either, or help them in their own countries with aid by way of products made here as cash goes astray.

But until then  and all fixed up which currently is not with over 100,000 homeless for a start and underlying poverty here too.

Charity begins first at Home here.

With you all the way there Big Val - what a mess we have.  Right now, there isn't a party that genuinely represents the Australian people.  To my mind the Libs are the best of a bad lot at the moment, but I am certainly not confident about putting my faith in any of them.  Unless things change dramatically over the next few months, the election is going to be a nightmare for thinking voters, ie those who don't blindly vote for someone because that's the way they have always voted.

By the way, could you please resend the information you sent me, I lost it somehow before I took note of the information.

Have you spoken to Henry about the ........Seniors Party ..........Pommy
