Retailers reveal best-selling Christmas gifts
Online retailers are experiencing a huge Christmas shopping surge, to the point where they’re warning shoppers to buy now for Christmas or risk missing out.
Unsurprisingly, coronavirus has led to an increase of online shopping activity around the country, says a Perth Now article.
“It’s forced many people, particularly older Australians, to try shopping online for the first time — and it will continue long after the coronavirus is over,” said AlphaBeta director Andrew Charlton.
While some research suggests that around 52 per cent of consumers were concerned about their safety while shopping in stores, it’s not stopping the other 48 per cent from hitting online stores now.
And between now and Christmas, sales such as Black Friday (November 27) and Cyber Monday (November 30) will have them flocking in digital droves.
SO, what are you likely to miss out on if you don’t get in now?
According to Catch.com.au chief marketing officer Ryan Gracie, tech gifts are the most popular items on 2020 Christmas lists.
“Some of our bestsellers include smart home products, televisions and gaming consoles like Nintendo Switch,” he said.
“We’re also expecting drones to be a bestseller as Aussies look forward to exploring the great outdoors.”
Have you started your Christmas shopping? Are you likely to do the bulk of your shopping online, or will you hold out hope that bricks and mortar stores reopen soon?
Not started shopping yet but I do like to see what I buy as a gift
... some of the online stuff is shonky
... if I get stumped I will send Bunning vouchers.
