Yes I have had mine done. It depends on your reason for getting it done as to how satisfied you will be with the results. You also need to realise that you will need to run your data through other sites at a cost to get more answers. Unless you simply want to find ancestors inwhich case you upload to a site for this which may also charge.

There are a number of places to choose from...the most prominent is Ancestry.com but I there are others as well.

I find it a bit confusing to be honest...may go and get information from someone who specialises in this type of thing before I make a commitment to any one company.

Ive been thinking about it since my GP told me due to fact that mny generic medicines dont work on me - antibiotics and pain meds in particular.

I recently had a second bout of Cellulitis after hop replacement due to tech dropping a plate on right foot - big toe - throbbed for hours after - went home next day and infection started 2 days later this was 15th September 17- got rid of it - so GP says 1st April 18 when he had at last given in and gave me a script for an IV which is only one available as no generic and it worked almost immediately after 2nd IV both of 1g each so 2 g , total he gave me -hes rotten at  doing Injections - went through veins as mine so thin these days and blood spread took week or so to go away.

Seems his nurse isnt allowed to do an IV - although nurses do it for Public Hospital at outatient clinic these days - go to emergency get a script and fill it there, no original drugs stocked these days as cheaper they say - ha ha blooming ha I say.

I'v been to see GP every week since Sept plus oral antiiotics around $13 a pop with levy and then chemist paid too as well as cost of drugs and the IV which had to be ordered in from America - cost me $17.85 plus chemist fee + 2 GP visits  for IV as opposed to the ones with the generics which havent added up by a whole lot greater for the 2 IV's the hospital gave me to start with - than using the original tested on humans one.

Generics are NOT exactly the same at all as said on our Gov plus FDA sites these days. They lie. Because only the active ingredient can be used and that can be evivilant to 80% - up to 120% of the original used.

Since most generic manufacturers go fo profit - most use 80% seemingly and with fillers being different - effect on humans is diferent to that of tested - and side effects too as these are collected from thousands tested in trials and dont allcome to all of us - we all react differently.

You can get the original often as they nearly make one one to beat the generics folks - look up PBS not as easy as it was as changed it - to make it harder IMHO as they push generics - reckon many get a kick back to do so - chemist do for sure - and then charge the gove the price etc - 2006 Dec Abbott pu tout media release re this rip off and arranged for them to pare back giving me more profits over time to 2012 - but Labor got in 2007 and it fell apart and they still get more for pushing generics.

Panadeine Forte - ask for Prodine Forte. Kenacomb - Otocomb

Antibiotics pay levy as too important to get infection on the run but be aware Ihave had oveaseas docs give me script naming the generic drug for OTI. So use to go home and look it up on OPBS but since altered it not so easy. My chemist look it up for me as fed up with me moaning in the shop I reckon ha ha. He does keep some originals but not always and has to order them in. So need to go back next day or so.

So thats why thinking of doing medical DNA myelf. GP said can guide him on what will work on me.

My chemist has DNA testing kits available - for medis as well as another more generel one cost is aroind $99 - or a I think $150 for general - maybe other way round !

Sorry - Typing eratic due to not seeing too well and cant get the larger font.  I cant use my reading or computer glasses as not doing the job and waiting to see specialist re cataract surgery.

Bit of a shock as he said only just legally able to drive. And yet distance specs fine. And he also said I had macular degeneration badly but no holes in my vision I read books without glasses for last few weeks which is why I went for test and only 2 years since last test. Yes told had cataracts coming in 2013 but didnt get told worse last time 2016.

Mind  used to be a touch typist but find keyboards on computers different feel. Lighter ha ha. I wear them out - letters disappear. Can buy letters on E Bay which save buying new keyboard slighter cheaper.

I see specialist re eye surgery on 16th May. Was thinkng of going for another eye test but they do one to start with.

Realized after - he used the new way of testing where not having specs on nose and putting lense in etc to get right for me. And only other time used this new fangled thing got bad lense and had to have re test with old spec on nose and new ones - forgot that.

Honestly these new ways are not always best.

Tread carefully with DNA testing. You may find out things you don't want to know!!

lol - yeah Radish could find out she maybe "half human - half vegetable"  (radish) - lol lol lol lol   -  sorry couldn't resist that one!   :-)

Big Val. Check to see that the testing will give u the answers you seek. I'm not sure the general testing (23andme) will give you all the answers you seek. May give some.
