Simple healthy breakfast treat.

Most days I have this for breakfast - serves one, or up the quantities for more.
Banana Smoothie:
Take one fairly ripe banana, break up and put in blender.
Add about 3-4 dessert spoons of plain low fat yoghurt.
1-2 teaspoons psyllium husks.
1 teaspoon LSA mix (optional - you can grind your own if you find it too expensive)
About one teaspoon turmeric.
Pinch of powdered cardamom.
You can add a drop of ginger syrup or rosewater, or a little vanilla, for extra flavour.
Blend till really smooth.
This is an excellent breakfast for those who are health-conscious or seeking to lose weight.
If you want a little protein you can also add an egg.

I often have a banana smoothie for lunch and it does help keep the weight down to use it for one meal a day. er About one teaspoon turmeric. Pinch of powdered cardamom really?

not too sure about that but I will give it a go.

I use crushed ice also to make a really big milk shake without any more calories but I also use skim milk powder instead of the yoghurt sometimes

Nice to read something different.

Phyl.

Phyl - I use turmeric a lot as apparently it is supposed to help against Alzheimers, and I reckon I need all the help I can get, LOL!!!

The cardamom is just to give it a lovely aroma and a bit of exotic taste - I can imagine I am in the Kasbah!!
